Get to know Rachel
My objective and mission are to help you grow, heal and be successful in your life. I will support you on your path of enhancing your journey and achieving your goals.
I started off my professional life as a podiatric physician and surgeon in a successful private practice. I loved working with my patients and enabling them to live with less or no pain. At the same time, for over two decades, I worked as a mentor/coach for women looking for direction in their life. This provided me with much experience in interacting with people facing difficulties, and it was a great learning opportunity in developing empathy and appreciation for their challenges and resilience.
Following an injury, I decided to change careers and pursue my dream of becoming a social worker helping people cope successfully with their emotional pain. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to do what I really love.
Having moved multiple times in my life, I speak a number of languages and have been exposed to various cultures. This has helped instill in me the belief that each individual is truly unique, which is an essential aspect of my practice.
I obtained a Master of Social Work degree at Wayne University in Detroit and am trained in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Psychodynamics. Additionally, I have been certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia and often utilize Mindfulness to aid my clients in their journey to a healthy and productive life.
Being proficient in multiple approaches to therapy gives me the knowledge, freedom and flexibility to address my client’s challenges in an individual manner, rather than a “one size fits all” method.
