It\u2019s not easy, and we often resist it.\u00a0 But the good news is, that it\u2019s all part of our growing process: making us more flexible and opening us to new experiences and opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you want to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn something new<\/li>\n<li>Exercise more often<\/li>\n<li>Drop a bad habit<\/li>\n<li>Become more social<\/li>\n<li>Show more vulnerability<\/li>\n<li>Reconnect with people that you care about<\/li>\n<li>Rid yourself of a <a href=\"https:\/\/rachelfreedlandmsw.com\/pt\/relationship-therapy\/\">toxic relationship<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Embark on a new career path<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are 5 key things you need to know about change:<\/p>\n<strong>1. Identify what you want to change.<\/strong><br \/>\nAsk yourself what you want to be different? Allow your mind to wander and consider the possibilities.\n<p><strong>2. Keep your options open<\/strong> and get rid of negative self-defeating talk and thoughts. Concentrate on past successes and develop a &#8220;can-do&#8221; attitude.<\/p>\n<strong>3. Start small.<\/strong><br \/>\nImagine yourself eating an apple one little bite at a time versus stuffing the whole thing in your mouth at once. Consider every small step in the right direction a success!\n<p><strong>4. Hold onto<\/strong> <strong>healthy relationships<\/strong> with family, friends and peers.\u00a0 Consider turning to them as needed for support, advice, guidance and security.\u00a0 Talking with someone else can help you clarify your options and stick with the change you are making.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.
