Ele nos ajuda a manter as emo\u00e7\u00f5es sob controle, permite que sigamos nossos planos e previne comportamentos excessivamente impulsivos.<\/p>\n<p>Mas a verdade \u00e9 que o autocontrole pode ser uma faca de dois gumes. Assim como muitos de nossos tra\u00e7os, ele pode, em certos momentos, tornar-se contraproducente, causando mais preju\u00edzos do que benef\u00edcios.<\/p>\n<p>Ser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologicalscience.org\/news\/researchers-have-identified-a-new-personality-type-chances-are-youve-had-it.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">excessivamente controlado<\/a>, um tra\u00e7o de personalidade que envolve uma quantidade exagerada de autocontrole, est\u00e1 associado a:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seguir regras de forma r\u00edgida<\/li>\n<li>Evitar riscos<\/li>\n<li>Adiar constantemente a gratifica\u00e7\u00e3o<\/li>\n<li>Preocupar-se excessivamente em ser justo(a) e moral<\/li>\n<li>Enfatizar responsabilidades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Essas tend\u00eancias costumam reduzir comportamentos impulsivos e agressivos, al\u00e9m de aumentar a confiabilidade e o desempenho. Por\u00e9m, a exig\u00eancia de controlar nossos sentimentos pode se tornar excessiva. Manter as emo\u00e7\u00f5es reprimidas acaba se tornando um fardo, impedindo-nos de nos compreender melhor e de nos abrir de forma adequada com parceiros, amigos e familiares.<\/p>\n<h2>ISOLAMENTO SOCIAL<\/h2>\n<p>Quando restringimos nossas emo\u00e7\u00f5es, n\u00e3o conseguimos empatizar e nos conectar adequadamente com os outros. Isso interfere na forma\u00e7\u00e3o de novos v\u00ednculos interpessoais, e os relacionamentos que j\u00e1 temos tornam-se superficiais e carentes de profundidade, levando-nos a abandon\u00e1-los e a nos isolar ainda mais. Isso cria um ciclo vicioso.<\/p>\n<h2>INTERNALIZA\u00c7\u00c3O DE PROBLEMAS<\/h2>\n<p>E ent\u00e3o a situa\u00e7\u00e3o piora\u2026 Quanto menos pessoas temos ao nosso redor para conversar, maior a probabilidade de ficarmos presos em nossos pr\u00f3prios pensamentos. Quando n\u00e3o recebemos perspectivas externas, \u00e9 mais prov\u00e1vel que passemos a nos culpar de forma irracional por nossos problemas ou fiquemos presos a padr\u00f5es de pensamento desesperan\u00e7osos e fatalistas. Em n\u00edveis mais extremos, essa tend\u00eancia pode levar ao que chamamos de transtornos internalizantes, que incluem ansiedade e depress\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<h2>ABANDONANDO COMPORTAMENTOS DE EXCESSO DE CONTROLE<\/h2>\n<p>Comportamentos excessivamente controlados s\u00e3o comuns e, provavelmente, todos conseguem reconhecer algo familiar na descri\u00e7\u00e3o acima. A boa not\u00edcia \u00e9 que, ao reconhecer o problema, j\u00e1 estamos prontos para come\u00e7ar a trabalhar em uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o!<\/p>\n<p>A terapia pode nos ajudar a aprender a ser mais flex\u00edveis e abertos a novas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, a expressar melhor nossas emo\u00e7\u00f5es, tanto verbal quanto n\u00e3o verbalmente, e a nos conectar de forma significativa com as pessoas ao nosso redor.
